Ionic Pages

Every mobile application is composed of various components such as a login, dashboard, my profile, about page and many others. These components are basically the building-blocks of your app.

For the Ionic Framework, we call these building blocks as Pages.

An Ionic Page is basically just composed of 3 parts: (1) an html file, (2) a javascript file, and (3) an optional css file.

You can design your page in the HTML file by using the usual markups and with the Ionic view components.

For your business logic and other required processing, you can add under the javascript file. This is essentially using the Angular Framework under the hood. And if you want, you can also customise your page by adding a CSS Pre-processor.

These files will be processed by Ionic and will transformed by Apache Cordova to a Windows Mobile, iOS or an Android project. The Ionic Pages will be rendered as a Web View by the Mobile Operating System, along with the other Cordova and Ionic plugins.

This is one of the reasons why it is faster to develop hybrid mobile applications with Ionic – you only need to know the commonly used web technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS to create your own app.
