Node.JS Overview

Node.JS is basically a JavaScript runtime environment, originally developed Ryan Dahl in 2009.

It is an open-source, cross-platform javascript runtime environment built on Google Chrome’s V8 JavaScript engine.

It’s an event-driven architecture capable of asynchronous I/O which aims to optimize throughput and scalability in Web applications with many input/output operations, as well as for real-time Web applications such as real-time communication programs and browser games.
