- After choosing “Paste in Text,” you’ll be directed to the editor page to insert your notes!
Just above the text editor, you can choose from presentation, webpage, document, or social. But for now, we’ll click on ‘Presentation’.You can also adjust the card size to your preference. The available options are Default (Fluid), 16:9 (Traditional), and 4:3 (Tall).
Note: A guide on the right-hand side that shows how to format your notes properly! Use three dashes (—) to separate slides.Once you’ve pasted your input, scroll down and choose how Gamma should handle your content! Then click ‘Continue’ to Prompt Editor.
- In the Prompt Editor, there are three sections. On the left, you’ll find the settings for text, images, and format. The middle shows your slides, where you can add, delete, or reorder them. On the right are tips and an optional field to give extra instructions to the AI.
For images, Gamma lets you generate visuals using built-in AI models, with Flux being one of its most notable and fast-performing options.
Then make sure to read the tips provided on the right-hand side to edit cards properly!
After editing your content, click ‘Continue’ to proceed to the theme selection step. However, keep in mind that generating a full slide deck from your input will use 40 credits, so ensure you’re satisfied with your edits before moving forward.
Picking Your Theme
Next, you can choose a theme for your presentation. This sets the tone with colors, fonts, and layouts that match your topic. If you’re unsure where to start, try the Shuffle option for inspiration or scroll through the available themes until you find one that feels right!
You can always change your theme even after hitting ‘Generate’.
Main Editor Page
Finally, we’re here at the main editor page! You’ll have complete over your presentation. Here’s a quick walkthrough of what you can do:
- On the left, you’ll see the film strip view, a vertical list showing all your cards at a glance. You can rearrange slides by dragging and dropping. Also, switching to list view is recommended for a more compact overview.
- In the center, you’ll find your individual slides where most of your editing happens. Now, let’s go over the key tools you’ll use here:
Additional Options (Kebab Menu)
Clicking on the three-dot menu of a card opens up a set of powerful options. From here, you can duplicate a card, merge it into the card above, grab the card link, or even copy it to another presentation. You’ll also see export options, which are handy if you want your card to be a PNG, PDF, PPTX, or Google Slides. And of course, if you don’t need the card anymore, you can delete it from here.
Card Styling
Next up is Card Styling. When you click on it, a panel slides open with everything you need to fine-tune how your card looks and feels. At the top, you’ll see different layout choices (top, left, right, no layout, or background layout). Below that, you can set your card’s color, make it a Full-bleed card, Content alignment, Card width, Backdrop, and Headers & footers. At the bottom, you’ll spot a Reset Styling button on the left if you ever want to start fresh, and on the right, a gear icon for Page Setup, where you can dive into even more customization.
Edit with AI
Then comes the star of the show: Edit with AI! This is one of the best features of Gamma! With it, you can talk to an AI chatbot and tell it what edits you want for the selected card. The panel lets you type instructions directly or click on suggested changes (just keep in mind these may cost credits!). Right below, you’ll find quick options like Try new layout. Under the Writing section, you can pick from tools like Improve writing, Fix spelling & grammar, Translate, Make longer, Make shorter, Simplify language, or Be more specific. Under “image”, you’ll see options to make this more visual or add an image.
Want to edit the formatting of your cards? Gamma handles it for you, so you can focus on writing your ideas and adding items or columns without worrying about the layout. Hover on the texts, and a three-dot menu will show so you can edit the layout. Plus, you can add a note on each card!
To edit an image, simply click the image you want to edit. A tab will show information about the image under media. You can enhance how you want the image generate or pick an art style below that fits your liking!
- On the right-hand side, the Insert Widget lets you explore all the block types you can add to your slides. Very useful for structuring content!
Exploring More Features
Here, I tested the ‘Edit with AI‘ feature, costing 10 credits.
A chat window opens where you can ask how you want to change the edit. For this example, I asked it to change the laptop screen from the original image it generated. And just like that, it nailed exactly how I wanted the image to look!
To add more cards to your project, you can start with a blank card, generate one using AI, or pick from the available templates by clicking ‘Add Template’.
Note: If you select a blank card, helpful hints appear:
- Type “/” to insert a new block (like text, list, image, etc.)
- Or type “+++” to continue with AI assistance
Ready to Show It Off?
Once your slides are good to go, head to the top bar for the final steps to bring everything together:
- Click ‘Theme’ to switch up the style, colors, or fonts anytime!
- Hit ‘Share’ to get a public link or invite collaborators to edit your deck with you.
