Building the Next Chapter of Microsoft Student Community in the Philippines

“We empower the world. Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more.”

The Hello, World! Your First Steps into AI and Microsoft meetup marked the beginning of a new chapter for the Microsoft Student Community Philippines (MSC PH)—a nationwide initiative dedicated to connecting student technology communities, developing future Microsoft leaders, and expanding access to cloud, artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and automation education across the Philippines.

Building the Next Chapter of Microsoft Student Community in the Philippines

For the first time since the Microsoft Student Partners (MSP) program was introduced in the Philippines in 2007, Microsoft student organizations from different universities are coming together under a centralized national community network through Microsoft Student Community Philippines (MSC PH).

This milestone represents nearly two decades of student leadership, technical learning, community collaboration, and Microsoft’s continued investment in empowering students to achieve more.

A Legacy of Microsoft Student Leadership in the Philippines

The Microsoft student ecosystem in the Philippines has evolved through multiple generations of student leaders, each contributing to the growth of the local technology community.

  • Microsoft Student Partners (MSP) (2007–2021) developed approximately 430 student leaders nationwide.

  • Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors (MLSA) (2022–2025) continued this legacy with around 50 ambassadors representing universities across the country.

  • Following Microsoft’s global transition to the Microsoft Student Ambassador (MSA) program, the July 2026 cohort now consists of only six undergraduate Microsoft Student Ambassadors in the Philippines.

Although the number of ambassadors has become significantly smaller, the mission remains the same: to inspire students, strengthen local technology communities, build future industry leaders, and create opportunities for learning, innovation, and collaboration.

Microsoft Student Community Philippines: A Historic First

One of the most significant milestones of the meetup was the official launch of Microsoft Student Community Philippines (MSC PH)—a collaborative national ecosystem that connects established Microsoft student organizations across the country.

The founding network includes:

Rather than operating independently, these university communities now form a collaborative national network that promotes knowledge sharing, cross-campus partnerships, mentorship, technical events, and leadership development for students interested in Microsoft technologies.

Learning Together Through AI, Azure, and Microsoft Technologies

The pilot meetup reflected this collaborative vision through three connected technical sessions that formed a complete beginner-friendly learning journey—from understanding Microsoft Azure, to building AI agents, to deploying them responsibly and securely.

Keeping It Safe: Securing Agentic Automation with UiPath and Microsoft

Clarisse Jem Salazar, Co-Founder & Deputy Country Lead of Microsoft Student Community Philippines and an Associate Microsoft Student Ambassador, and UiPath Student Developer Champion, concluded the learning sessions by exploring how organizations can securely deploy AI-powered automation using UiPath, Microsoft Security, and Microsoft Sentinel.

House of Two Global Student Tech Programs

A unique highlight of the event was the opportunity for Clarisse Jem Salazar to represent two global student technology programs simultaneously:

By connecting Microsoft’s AI and cloud technologies with UiPath’s enterprise automation platform, she hopes to encourage more students to explore careers in intelligent automation while expanding access to the UiPath Student Developer Champion program across more Philippine universities.

Supported by Microsoft’s Community Leaders

The continued growth of Microsoft Student Community Philippines (MSC PH) would not be possible without the guidance and mentorship of Microsoft’s technical community.

Special thanks to the Microsoft MVPs and community leaders who continue supporting student developers across the country:

Their leadership demonstrates how experienced professionals can help cultivate the next generation of developers, cloud engineers, AI practitioners, cybersecurity professionals, and community leaders.

Looking Ahead

Microsoft Student Community Philippines (MSC PH) is more than a collection of university organizations—it is a growing national network committed to empowering students through Microsoft technologies, technical education, leadership development, and community collaboration.

As the ecosystem continues to grow, the goal is to help more students discover opportunities in Microsoft Azure, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, Data, Automation, and other emerging technologies while fostering collaboration instead of competition.

The future of technology is built through communities that learn together, build together, and grow together.

Be a Force for Good. Achieve More.
