3 Ways to Fast Track your Cloud Career Journey this 2024

I usually have a countdown to the end of the year (even as early as the 1st quarter of the year) that acts as a timebox for me to track my goal progression or even catch up with the old aspirations until the earth completes yet another revolution around the sun. We may not accomplish 100% of our targets, but if we keep a positive disposition in life and persistently work on achieving our objectives each and every day, the chances are we’ll eventually arrive at 80% or 90% completion of our desired outcome. That’s way lot better than having 0% or no progress at all!

In this edition, we would like to share the 3 ways to supercharge your career and earning potential to make 2024 a year chock-full of personal achievements! You have to be inspired constantly, be in the know and be of service to fast-track your tech career.

Be Inspired

‘Instruction does much, but encouragement everything” – says Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, the most widely regarded and influential writer in German literature. Change always starts from within, and you must be continuously encouraged and inspired to help you take the leap of faith.

Inspiration can come in many forms such as a simple conversation, a noteworthy story, a memorable movie, a personal experience or an inspiring book. You can read the stories of remarkable individuals in the technology space and learn from their experiences which you can then apply to your own career journey. You can check out the recently released Cloud Careers Journey book which is a compilation of personal stories of notable cloud influencers in the industry.

Being cognizant of the specific must-haves of your current and soon-to-be employer can future-proof your career, more so if you can provide that much-needed service that they require. The critical thing to note here is that you can only meet the needs of your company and its end customers if you possess the knowledge and skills necessary to complete the task.

You have to be highly knowledgeable and capable on certain technologies to provide an excellent service to your company by lowering down their recurring monthly operating costs, scaling up their systems and launching operationally performant solutions. This is where your cloud training, hands-on labs and certifications come into play.

You will be able to cater to the needs of your current company if you have undergone proper cloud training. Many people have achieved a new set of skills and expertise by studying and attaining several industry certifications. This credential validates that you are indeed an expert in your chosen field, which can be obtained by studying the recommended materials as well as doing hands-on labs using your own account or via the Tutorials Dojo’s PlayCloud Sandbox/Guided Labs.

Having an extensive experience in the IT industry is great, but it does have its limitations. As technology advances at the speed of light, the skills that we have right now are at risk of being totally replaced by Artificial Intelligence.
